Migration Export – Local Discovery

This concise guide walks you through downloading all the documents in your project along with all available metadata.


 

Important: There are some case elements that do not transfer from the Local Discovery case. These include:

  • Custom Layouts
  • Saved Searches
  • Control/Pick Lists
  • Case Documents
  • Production Shield
  • Production Settings
  • Partial Dates – g., 01/00/2023
  • User Security & History
  • Document Folders
  • Page-Level Tags
  • Persistent Highlighting
  • Unbranded Redactions, Comments, Annotations
  • Redaction Categories
  • Transcripts, Transcript Issues, Notes, Linked Documents

Prepare Local Discovery Data

  1. Export 1 - Natives, Images, Text, Metadata, Work Product
    1. Export Data Online Guide: Export Case Data (ipro.com)
    2. All documents to be migrated.
    3. There is no need to check the two fields on the System Fields tab.
    4. Use the Select All option on the Database Fields tab.
    5. Use the Export Data tool and settings shown in screenshot.

  3. Production Volumes and their associated cross-reference file.
    1. In the data directory for the case there is a folder called “ProdXref”.
    2. This folder will contain text files for each production export performed and are named after the production name.
    3. The following fields are found in the text file: BEGDOC, PRODBEG, PRODEND, PRODBEGATTACH, PRODENDATTACH.
    4. This can be used as the cross-reference file for the Production History.
